​It's a Louisiana Thing is a tribute to the LSU Tigers, the fans, and of course the tiger, Mike VII. I thought it was only fitting to place Mike in a swamp with a purple and gold sunset. This piece was intended as a tribute but quickly gained popularity with tiger and cat lovers in general.

About the Artwork: 
Norman Rockwell was one of the most beloved American Illustrators and is still great influence for me. This piece was completed in 1989 and is rare because it is one of the very few known originals of mine. It is also rare because it was signed Billy Wax long before I began signing my art as W.H.Wax. It was a study for a painting that was not completed.​
